RE: Your favourite memories of the Stones
hi Patrick, looking at your photo pic I am a little older than you ,but we share the same interest in a truly great band ! I first saw the Stones on Nov 29,1969 at the Boston Garden in rear view seats that were horrible.I didn't stay in them very long as I was a big fan and nothing was going to stop me from getting closer as I had learned how to jump barriers and skirt the security guards during earlier concerts .Over the years,I have been to 25 Stones shows on 14 different tours watching great warm up acts such as Stevie Wonder,Billy Preston and many others and have seen the band transform them selves into very polished performers giving the fans great shows and many lasting memories. They have set the standard for presentation and sound quality that is very highly improved over the single amps and air raid conical speakers of the early primative shows at the garden. The sound system at the Barclay Center was excellent in the rear of the hall and the monitor was crystal clear.I am moer than qualified to make these statements as I have had seats in the very front row in 2003 at the inside corner of the runways in front of Jagger and Richards and got a Kieth guitar pick for my wife,a real treasure for a fan.I have seats for the June 14th show at the Garden at the $85- price/( A GIFT FROM MY LOVING DAUGHTER) in a questionmark location ,but I would accept any tickets that they give me and have paid top dollar pricing ,in the past and I would never want to go to my grave knowing that I didn't pony up the dough to see the Stones when I could for most likely the last time they will mount this large a tour.I have seen the Stones in the 2800 seat Orpheum theatre in Boston and can honestly say that the way they perform now is better suited for the medium size arena with the prodution and sound system they are carrying. As a major fan and lover of the Stones, my wife and I have combined our 2 Interest's in life for some fun as we breed AKC Championship show dogs/Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers and show them in the show ring.We are currently have 2 (9 month old pups ) Jagger &ANGIE that are winning in their class and will soon be Champions .(ps.JAGGER WILL BE A STUD DOG) I use the STONES song titles for the show names (ie RUBY TUESDAY,MIDNIGHT RAMBLER,HONKY TONK WOMAN,START ME UP,SHINE A LIGHT,DANCE LITTLE SISTER,STORMS A THREAT'N,being some of the names we have used.So as you can see being a fan can be an obsession while still being fun.AS I hear the belly aching about prices ,I can by good personal experience after also having been to over 500 concerts in my days and having also seen most of the greats including the Beatles on their first USA tour on SEPT 12,1964 ,3 days after my 15th birthday that the "ROLLING STONES"ARE THE GREATEST ROCK & ROLL BAND EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
