U2 have broken the world record for the largest grossing tour in history, earning £451 million for their '360 degrees' tour. The record was previously held by the Rolling Stones, who grossed £342 million for their 'A Bigger Bang' tour from 2005-2007.

U2 actually played less shows than the Stones did on their 'A Bigger Bang' tour, but had an average attendance of more than double. However, The Stones still hold the 2nd, 7th, 8th and 9th positions in the tour rankings, with 'A Bigger Bang Tour', 'Bridges To Babylon Tour / No Security Tour', 'Voodoo Lounge Tour' and 'Licks Tour' respectively.

A massive 50th anniversary tour is required to reclaim their position at number one!
