Ronnie Wood picked up an award for The Rolling Stones' 1972 album 'Exile On Main St' last night (November 10) – despite not playing on the album.

The guitarist was on hand at the Classic Rock Awards at London's Roundhouse to collect Reissue Of The Year for the record, although he did not join the band until after the classic album had been recorded.

However Wood insisted he was qualified to accept the prize because of his intimate relationship with the songs, declaring from the stage: "I have played these songs for the last 30 years and it's about time that I collected! So thanks a lot!"
