HBO are in negotiations with Paramount to produce a pilot for a series, which would chart the progression of music over the past 50 years from early RnB to modern day rock and hip-hop. It's under the working title History of Music.

The show would be written by Terence Winter (The Sopranos) and directed by Martin Scorsese, who are already working as producers on a show called Broadwalk Empire.
