Keith Richards explores his historical side
31/Jul/2011 - 11:26 POSTED BY PATRICK
Keith Richards has been spotted in Portsmouth, England, making a private visit to see Admiral Lord NelsonÂ’s flagship HMS Victory. Keith contacted the Historic Dockyard to find out if he could arrange a visit outside of normal opening hours.
He got chatting to the spokeswoman of the Dockyard, Melissa Gerbaldi, and conversed about how he grew up reading CS ForesterÂ’s novels about Horatio Hornblower and then later Patrick OÂ’BrianÂ’s novels on which the film Master and Commander was based. ![]() Also, she said, 'There was a real buzz on the site once we knew that he was paying us a visit. ItÂ’s not every day you have the chance to meet a rock legend. He had a real interest in all the attractions we have within the Historic Dockyard.' Who knows where Keith will be spotted next!
