It surfaced last week that the Rolling Stones had met in Paris for one week to record "a couple of new tracks". Other than that, the current activities of the Stones have been kept under lock and key.

But session keyboardist and touring member of the Rolling Stones, Chuck Leavell, has spoken in an interview with the Wall Street Journal about how the newly recorded songs sound.

He described the songs the band recorded in Paris at Studio Guillaume Tell as "up-tempo" rockers, including one where Ronnie Wood plays slide guitar. He went on: "Great hooks. Great energy. Bare bones".

Sounds a lot like the garage-rock band we heard on some tracks in 2005's A Bigger Bang!
