Th album was recorded during a period in June 1964 when the Rolling Stones were doing a lot of recording at Chess Studios, Chicago, Illinois, United States. The name for the EP was coined from the fact that it contains five songs played by five musicians, even through Ian Stewart too played on some of the tracks.
